The Project comprised of the renovation
of an existing seven storey skeleton
of a hotel
building, and the construction of two extra floors in
addition to
the construction of three storey parking
and cafeteria floor. The total built up
area is 8500 m2.
The works involved strengthening the
existing foundations using the method
of rebaring and enlarging the
foundations to withstand the additional load
of the two extra floors.
The external facades of the building
consisted mainly of white stone cladding
using the
conventional method of stone cladding using rebars at
every slab level
to transfer the load of each panel to
the existing slab. Also consisted of
aluminum curtain walls, internal
finishing incorporated a different
architectural features ranging from
different types of marble flooring, false
ceiling, stainless steel wall cladding
glass blocks, wooden counters.
