Surveyor

Job Summary 

Ensuring consistency of construction work with planning permits. Determining utility locations and conducting as-built surveys. 

Responsibilities: 

Ensuring consistency of construction work with planning permits 

Assessing the requisite documentation that must be included with an application for a building permit. 

Providing regulatory advice to ensure that the building permit will substantially comply with the Building Regulations 

Ensuring that any required consent of a reporting authority is obtained and any relevant planning permit or other prescribed approval has been obtained and is consistent with the building permit application. 

Conducting mandatory inspections of building work as it progresses. 

Ensuring that inspection is properly conducted and that the construction work complies with the regulations and the building permit 

Measuring and recording any land features such as contour, location and elevation. 

Take-off quantities from drawings and carryout continuous site measurement of construction items such as (tiling, plastering, painting  ...etc.) 

Performing basic field adjustments on data collectors, levels, compass, and tripods …etc. This would include repeating observations and steel taping. 

Performing mathematical checks and basic surveying computations. 

Determining utility locations and conducting as-built surveys. 

Supervising the measurement of cross sections and records topographic data. 

Determining the grade and slope of existing or proposed engineering sites, sidewalks, footings, retaining walls, drainage ditches, paving, and related projects. 

Determining and recording exact measurements of grade and alignment and preparing sketches of preliminary construction layouts. 

Education Level 

Diploma in Civil Engineering 

Experience 

Minimum Five years of experience in construction work. 

Languages Required 

Good in written and spoken English language 

Training Required 

Training courses in Surveying Techniques
